AirTag
Apple has long been rumored to come out with a tracker that allows you to easily find lost items, and last Tuesday they were finally announced. This AirTag works i.c.m. with Find My app on your iOS or macOS device. For example, you can attach it to your keychain, backpack or any other device. Through the app you can then track it and through a sound you can pick up the signal.

Because the AirTag works with a special U1 chip found in the new iPhone 12, you can track it anywhere in the world. In fact, every iPhone equipped with this chip sends around a signal that eventually comes back to you, its owner.

Various accessories are available to attach the AirTag, such as key chains and hangers for attaching to a suitcase/bag.

The AirTag is available individually (€35) or in a set of 4 (€119). Orderable from Friday, April 23, 2:00 p.m. and available from April 30.

Apple TV 4K

The Apple TV 4K has also received a minor update. For example, it features a faster A12 Bionic processor and has HDMI 2.1 on board which provides higher frame rates. Thus, you can now watch 4K HDR in 60 frames per second. Apple has also revamped the remote, as the previous remote received a lot of criticism from users. The new remote also works with the previous version Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K.

The new Apple TV 4K will be available from April 30 starting at $199. Those who want to purchase the new Siri Remote separately will spend €65.

The M1 iMac is officially a reality!

The new M1 iMac features a new design that makes it very similar to the iPad Pro and iPad Air. The new computer is incredibly thin and made from a single piece of glass. The minimal design is completed by seven different color options. The thick bezel on the front of the iMac appears to remain, but otherwise the computer looks a lot sleeker. Thanks in part to that new Apple Silicon.

There are also a number of new accessories for the iMac for sale. For example, there is an updated adapter that should separate cables properly. In addition, three brand new keyboards have been announced. There is a keyboard with a button for Emoji, a keyboard with Touch ID and a third that should complete the experience.

The updated iMac will start at €1449 and will be available in four colors. For €1669 you can get the model in the remaining color options. The computer will be released in the second half of May.

iPad Pro with M1 processor

That Apple had a big surprise in store tonight should be obvious. In a cool video, starring a very impressive Tim Cook, the company made it clear that the M1 chip is not just for the Mac. The first iPad Pro is on that front.

The first Mini-LED iPad Pro is also immediate. The M1 features a Liquid Retina XDR display with a maximum brightness of 1600 nits. In terms of performance, the screen is best compared to the Pro Display XDR. To be clear, only 12.9-inch model features MiniLED.

The new M1 iPad Pro is available in an 11-inch model for $899 and in a 12.9-inch variant for $1069. The new tablet can be ordered starting April 30, this Friday. Apple says it will be able to deliver the tablet starting in the second half of May.

As an Apple Technical Partner, we work daily with technology that is not only powerful but, above all, logical and pleasant to use. Why saving passwords in your browser is not a good idea
The blog post below was created in response to a question during our engineering meeting. Every two weeks, we get together with all of our technical staff to discuss the latest developments in technology or with clients. Good client questions also arise during these meetings, such as this one. Time to do some research. Thank you, Wiebe! You've probably experienced this: you log in to a website, and your browser asks if it should remember your password. Convenient, fast, and you don't have to remember anything. However, there's a risk involved. In practice, we see that many security incidents start with something small. Like saving passwords…

Apple is taking a big step with Apple Business
Apple announced something special this week. Not a new device, but something that might be even more interesting for many organizations: Apple Business. A completely new platform with which Apple brings all its business services together in one environment. And frankly: this is a development that we at Analyst ICT are following with great interest. The problem: fragmented tools and unnecessary complexity Many organizations working with Apple will recognize the problem: Multiple portals (Apple Business Manager, Business Essentials, Connect) Different tools for management, branding, and support Additional costs for basic functionalities such as device management This leads to a lack of clarity and costs time. And…
