Apple is taking a big step with Apple Business

Apple Business

Apple announced something special this week. Not a new device, but something that might be even more interesting for many organizations: Apple Business. A completely new platform with which Apple brings all its business services together in one environment.

And honestly, this is a development that we at Analyst ICT are following with great interest.

The problem: fragmented tools and unnecessary complexity

Many organizations that work with Apple recognize the problem:

  • Multiple portals (Apple Business Manager, Business Essentials, Connect)
  • Various tools for management, branding, and support
  • Additional costs for basic functionalities such as device management

This creates a lack of clarity and costs time. And that is precisely what IT is not intended for.

The solution: one central platform

With Apple Business, Apple brings everything together in one environment:

  • Device management (management of iPhones, Macs, and iPads)
  • User management and roles
  • Company profiles and branding (e.g., in Apple Maps)
  • App support
  • Email, calendar, and directory (new)

Everything from a single dashboard. No more hassle with separate systems.

In addition, an important part is now free: basic device management.

Why this is interesting for Analyst ICT customers

This might sound like “just another new tool,” but the impact is greater than that. Here are the key benefits for our customers:

1. Less complexity, more overview

You no longer need to switch between different portals. Everything is in one place.

Result: fewer mistakes, less time spent, more peace.

2. Faster and simpler workstation rollout

New employees? New Mac?

With the new “Blueprints,” devices can be automatically provisioned as soon as they are booted up.

Result: we can deliver workplaces even faster and more consistently.

3. Lower costs for basic management

What was previously a paid service (Apple Business Essentials) is now largely free.

Result: Lower IT costs without compromising on quality.

4. Better collaboration between IT and marketing

Remarkable: Apple links IT and branding.

Consider:

  • Your business information in Apple Maps
  • Your branding in payments (Tap to Pay)
  • Understanding Customer Interaction

Result: Your ICT and marketing strengthen each other.

5. New competitor for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

Apple is now also adding email, calendar, and user management within the same platform.

Result: more freedom of choice and possibly less dependence on other platforms.

Specifically, what does this mean?

This is an interesting development for many SMB organizations. Especially if you already work with Apple.

But—and this is important—this doesn't replace everything.

For more complex environments, solutions like Microsoft 365, Intune, or specialized MDM tools are often still necessary.

Our view on this

At Analyst ICT, we always look at what works best for YOUR situation.

Apple Business is not a “silver bullet,” but it is a good step towards:

  • simplicity
  • lower costs

What are quantum computers? And why is everyone suddenly talking about them?
Chances are you've been hearing more and more about quantum computers in recent months. In the news, on LinkedIn, or perhaps even during conversations about AI and cybersecurity. Especially now that a Dutch chip developer is gaining global attention with a new generation of quantum chips, the technology suddenly seems closer than ever. But what exactly is a quantum computer? And why is so much expected of it? From Ordinary Computer to Quantum Computer To understand quantum computers, it's helpful to first look at how a normal computer works. A traditional computer — like your laptop or server — works with bits. A…

With our feet in the mud
Here we are. Not quite recognizable anymore, thanks to AI trying to protect children. Understandable, of course. But believe us: these really are Berry and Frank. More than ten years apart, but in reality, we've always been brothers from another mother. And what do we have in common? A lot... and at the same time, almost nothing. Berry is often the good cop. Calm, down-to-earth, and always working to get things done. I'm usually the bad cop. Direct, critical, and always looking for ways to improve. But that combination is precisely what works. What completely unites us, though, is our love for...

MacAdmins Meeting: What's relevant for your organization?
Last week, we attended the MacAdmins Meeting in Leiden. It's a gathering focused on Apple administration, security, and innovation. What stood out? Developments are moving fast. But more importantly: they are becoming increasingly relevant for SMEs. We'd like to share the key insights with you. What's happening? And what does that mean for your organization? Running AI Locally: Control Over Data and Costs AI is now everywhere. But one question remains central: where does your data reside? A significant topic during the meeting was running AI models (LLMs) locally. Instead of relying on external cloud platforms, more and more...
