Fortinet vulnerability CVE-2023-42789

In the ongoing battle to ensure digital security, it is super logical to stay abreast of the latest vulnerabilities and threats. Recently, CVE-2023-42789, also known as FG-IR-23-328, was identified as a significant threat. This vulnerability affects certain versions of Fortinet's FortiOS and FortiProxy due to an ‘out-of-bounds write’ issue, allowing attackers to execute potentially malicious code. Or in plain human terms the customers who have a router/firewall from Fortinet were potentially at risk.

We understand the risk this may pose to our customers and therefore took immediate action. Our team has proactively monitored and where necessary updated all systems covered by our managed services to address this vulnerability. We are pleased to report that all of our clients are now protected against CVE-2023-42789, ensuring continued integrity and security.
