Make your work easier with Microsoft Copilot: concrete examples

microsoft 365 copilot

ICT is sometimes complex, but technology can also actually make things much simpler. A great example of this is Microsoft Copilot. This smart assistant is incorporated into the Microsoft 365 apps you probably already use every day: Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and more. Copilot helps you work faster, save time and keep an overview. This is especially valuable for small businesses, where workloads are often high and hands are scarce.

We list the most important benefits and concrete examples.

What is Microsoft Copilot? Copilot is a digital assistant based on artificial intelligence. It “thinks” along with you in your documents, emails and meetings. You can ask Copilot questions in plain language - just as you would to a colleague. The result: fewer repetitive tasks and more time for your own work.

Practical examples

1. Working smarter with email (Outlook).

Recognizable: an overflowing inbox and not enough time? Copilot can:

  • Summarize long e-mail exchanges into a few lines;
  • immediately write a draft reply for you;
  • Suggestions to automatically schedule appointments or tasks from an e-mail.

This way you no longer have to go through everything word for word, but still keep an overview.

2. Faster document creation (Word).

Say: you need to draft a tender or policy document. Copilot will help you with:

  • A first draft based on your input (“create a draft proposal for an ICT service provider”);
  • shortening or just expanding texts;
  • adjusting tone and style (for example, more formal or customer-friendly).

You stay in control, but you no longer have to start from scratch.

3. Understanding numbers (Excel).

Many SMBs work with Excel, but it often takes a lot of time to analyze data. Copilot can:

  • Identify trends and anomalies in tables;
  • Create graphs or dashboards automatically;
  • Explain calculations in plain language.

So you no longer need to be an Excel expert to get useful insights from your numbers.

4. Better meetings (Teams).

Meetings are useful, but often time-consuming. Copilot in Teams helps by:

  • automatically take minutes during a meeting;
  • action items and decisions in an orderly fashion;
  • send summaries to colleagues who did not attend.

This way, you no longer waste time working out notes and everyone stays up to date easily.

What does this mean for your business?

For our clients and their teams, Copilot primarily means peace of mind and time savings. Less busy with peripheral issues, more focus on the core of your business. Plus, Copilot works in the familiar Microsoft 365 environment you already know. Are you interested in Copilot or would you like to see it live sometime? Then take contact with us.

Why saving passwords in your browser is not a good idea
The blog post below was created in response to a question during our engineering meeting. Every two weeks, we get together with all of our technical staff to discuss the latest developments in technology or with clients. Good client questions also arise during these meetings, such as this one. Time to do some research. Thank you, Wiebe! You've probably experienced this: you log in to a website, and your browser asks if it should remember your password. Convenient, fast, and you don't have to remember anything. However, there's a risk involved. In practice, we see that many security incidents start with something small. Like saving passwords…

Apple is taking a big step with Apple Business
Apple announced something special this week. Not a new device, but something that might be even more interesting for many organizations: Apple Business. A completely new platform with which Apple brings all its business services together in one environment. And frankly: this is a development that we at Analyst ICT are following with great interest. The problem: fragmented tools and unnecessary complexity Many organizations working with Apple will recognize the problem: Multiple portals (Apple Business Manager, Business Essentials, Connect) Different tools for management, branding, and support Additional costs for basic functionalities such as device management This leads to a lack of clarity and costs time. And…
