Office 2024 for consumers Available from Oct. 1

Office 2024

Microsoft announces the release of Office 2024, available Oct. 1, 2024, for consumers and small businesses. This is an ideal solution for users who prefer a one-time purchase rather than a subscription to Microsoft 365. Office 2024 offers new versions of the familiar productivity apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook, available for both PC and Mac.

Improved performance and speed

One of the key improvements in Office 2024 is the focus on better performance and speed. The search function in Outlook has been further refined to provide faster and more relevant results for emails, files, contacts and events. Excel also performs faster, even when multiple workbooks are open at the same time. For Mac users, Outlook introduces new customizable swipe gestures for easily managing emails with a multi-touch trackpad or Magic Mouse.

Improved content creation

Office 2024 includes several tools that take content creation to the next level. In Outlook, accessibility controls automatically help you make emails accessible to all recipients. In PowerPoint, you can now integrate a live camera feed directly into your presentation with the Cameo feature, or record a complete presentation with animations, transitions and inking using the recording studio. OneNote offers an enhanced inking experience, including a full-screen mode where you can use the entire screen for inking.

Advanced data analysis in Excel

Office 2024 makes data analysis in Excel easier and more powerful. You get access to new features to more easily manipulate text and arrays in worksheets. In addition, you can easily insert images with the IMAGE feature, without changing worksheet formatting. Dynamic arrays allow you to automatically update charts based on changing data, providing more flexible and accurate data visualizations.

Availability and versions

Office 2024 is offered in two editions:

  • Office Home 2024 for $149.99 USD, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote for one PC or Mac.
  • Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99 USD, with additional Outlook and commercial usage rights.

Both editions will be available worldwide starting Oct. 1 through Microsoft.com and various retailers.

For companies with five or more users, there is also the Office Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) 2024-version, which can be flexibly deployed alongside Microsoft 365 and offers easy deployment in hybrid environments.

System requirements and support

Office 2024 is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 11, and the three most recent versions of macOS. Using the software requires both a Microsoft account and an Internet connection

Why saving passwords in your browser is not a good idea
The blog post below was created in response to a question during our engineering meeting. Every two weeks, we get together with all of our technical staff to discuss the latest developments in technology or with clients. Good client questions also arise during these meetings, such as this one. Time to do some research. Thank you, Wiebe! You've probably experienced this: you log in to a website, and your browser asks if it should remember your password. Convenient, fast, and you don't have to remember anything. However, there's a risk involved. In practice, we see that many security incidents start with something small. Like saving passwords…

Apple is taking a big step with Apple Business
Apple announced something special this week. Not a new device, but something that might be even more interesting for many organizations: Apple Business. A completely new platform with which Apple brings all its business services together in one environment. And frankly: this is a development that we at Analyst ICT are following with great interest. The problem: fragmented tools and unnecessary complexity Many organizations working with Apple will recognize the problem: Multiple portals (Apple Business Manager, Business Essentials, Connect) Different tools for management, branding, and support Additional costs for basic functionalities such as device management This leads to a lack of clarity and costs time. And…
